Yeah, it's been a while....

Okay, so I haven't been here in over a week, I know, shame on me.... But we're really busy people! Well I'm not 100% sure I have mentioned this before, but Ethan has 2 teeth now, and is starting to crawl!!! Wow he is growing up fast.
Like I said we are busy.... let me share why. Monday's in the evening, I teach piano. Tuesday this last week was movie night, and this week worship practice for a womens event. Wednesday last week was Partylite meeting, and every week choir. Thursday's are usually free, I try to book shows on that night or, just spend time with my family. Friday is small group night, although we have had other things going on that we haven't made it to small group in a while..... Saturday was mom's candle party, and after that I hung out with my friends, and my parents. Then Sunday, church.... See so you can't say that we have a lot of time, we don't. Just day time, time.
Zacharie is almost completely potty-trained. He can go out in just underwear and not get them wet!! We are just working on night-time.... that's the hard part.
We are waiting for spring to come... and then SUMMER!!!! I love summer. Well I'll be back later, lots to do, always.

Long Week-end...

And so our long weekend is coming to a close. I love long weekends, not that I have to go back to work the next day, but Tyler does and so do my parents. We spend a lot of time with my parents, Zacharie especially. This weekend for us was kinda blah.... nothing interesting happened.
But today, I discovered that I can make a Partylite website!! So I did!! If you want to check it out, it is really cool!
Anyway, I have a busy week ahead of me. I have 2 meetings that I am supposed to go to, my mom's birthday is tomorrow, my grandpa's 75th birthday is Wednesday ( one of the meetings is that night) and I am getting our piano tuned (yaaaaaayyyy!!!). WOW... lots to do.
I also just realized that I forgot to reply to an email.... I'm not with it today....
Anyway see ya....

Oh yeah that website is :

Happy Valentine's Day

So, I usually don't like valentine's day, I usually expect my hubby to do something sweet, and I usually get let down. Not that he doesn't try, he usually forgets. It's okay.
Last year on Valentine's Day we found out that I was pregnant with a "boy". I was a bit disappointed, to be quite honest. I had my heart set on having a girl.....
I wasn't upset that he was a boy, I was upset that he wasn't a girl. So my valentine's day kinda was an emotional trek. By the end of the day, however, we had decided on what we were gonna call him. Ethan is Hebrew and it means strong, firm, and impetuous. Some days, like today, I wish we hadn't named him that, he is a very stubborn and strong little boy! Sometimes that's a good thing, though. Not when he's cranky....
Anyway, back to Valentine's....
Tyler and I were actually initially planning on getting married on Valentine's day. Since we got engaged on January 9th, my mom convinced us to give her more time to plan an actual wedding. So we did. We spent our Valentine's that year, in Regina, planning a wedding.
I'm not sure that Valentine's was such a great idea. It's a lot of pressure on couples to spend a "romantic" day together, which I'm not sure a lot of couples, especially married ones, with kids, have time for. My theory is be romantic whenever you want, instead of waiting for an anniversary, birthday or holiday, like Valentine's Day to be romantic. Besides, it's only a way for retail stores to make more money selling you chocolates ( not that I don't like chocolates), flowers (which die anyway, although, I like getting flowers too.....) and cards (does anyone ever keep those???). I'd rather spend my money on something more worth while.
But for lots of people, who aren't married or dating someone, Valentine's is a drag.... And I don't think that it should be that way. I know a lot of my "single" friends hang out with each other, and see a movie, or something like that. Valentine's day, I don't think, is being what it was meant to be.
The history of Valentine's day is actually a very interesting one, as no one really knows why it is.
Here's what I found....
Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred.
One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.
Another one is that Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today.
And this one is certainly an interesting prospective of it :
The Christian church may have decided to celebrate Valentine's feast day in the middle of February in an effort to 'christianize' celebrations of the pagan Lupercalia festival. In ancient Rome, February was the official beginning of spring and was considered a time for purification. Houses were ritually cleansed by sweeping them out and then sprinkling salt and a type of wheat called spelt throughout their interiors. Lupercalia, which began at the ides of February, February 15, was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture.
Wow there are a lot of different aspects.... so see, Valentine's Day isn't necessarily a romantic day....
There's your "learned something new..." for the day and a little history lesson.
In any case, whatever or however you are celebrating Valentine's Day, Have a good one!!!

Okay so a Tuesday.... at least I think that's what day it is.

Well it's Tuesday. Ethan has started to try to crawl.... It's quite funny cuz if he doesn't move then he gets mad and frustrated and then he'll move, and he stops crying, and tries to figure out how he did that.
We've had a pretty interesting couple of days. On Saturday we went to Estevan for Amanda's wedding. Now that was the most elegant wedding I have ever been to, and she made the most beautiful bride!! I think the only other wedding that was at the same elegance level was one I went to when I was 7 years old. Wow. It was so beautiful. They had the coolest idea for Wedding "favors". They had Jones' Soda, with their picture and name and date of the wedding on it, and then had a scripture verse on the other side. When I was talking to her, she said that she loves Jones' soda and HAD to have it at their wedding so she went on their website to see if they do stuff like that and they did! Totally cool.
The weather made the way there and back a bit interesting. On the way there we saw four vehicles in the ditch.... we were praying the whole way not to join them. Then it was very funny, at Milestone, it was all-of-the-sudden clear! Really weird. On the way back it was just very windy. Not a bad drive though... could have been nasty.
Sunday, I was in choir and as always on Sunday morning, we were running very late..... It seems as though we have a harder time that day of the week, getting ready to go...
Monday..... I hate Mondays..... it was not too thrilling.... at all. Really boring actually.
So that brings us to today. And so far not too much has happened. I'm just waiting for Valentine's day to pass.... I'm not sure that I like that day either. Lots of pressure to be sweet and romantic and most of the time, GUYS...... , forget about it. Tyler doesn't usually forget, he just isn't naturally romantic, and we have kids, so that makes it hard to be romantic and plan something, as kids are very unpredictable.
Well I hope this week goes by quickly, it's seeming to drag as it is.

The Scribbles on My Heart

Her sweet eyes
Soft, sweet skin
Precious smile
I miss her already
I miss everything about her.
I can't take being away.
She is the woman I love.
The one I miss the most
I can't wait to hold her
Breathe her in
Take her all in
Memories flood through
my consciousness
Wanting me, wishing
that She was here with me.
I know she knows I love Her
So I write this
In hopes She can hear
The scribbles on my heart.

*this poem was written in 2002, while my wife and I were dating, on the bus back to Kindersley from Regina after saying good-bye to my (now) wife.

Wow, what a day.....

Not that anything interesting happened today. It was just busy.
We finally got the boys to bed, after giving them a bath and then getting some news about Tyler's grandma. Apparently she got her knee stuck, and then her heart rate jumped to 160! So she got rushed to the hospital and her leg is in a brace and she's on crutches. She's back home now, but still a little shook up.
Ethan broke a tooth through on Tuesday, and another one today. So he has two little teeth!
Zacharie is still doing awesome potty training!! He always says "don't get the gotchies wet!" He's so funny. He'll go to bed, and then get upset cuz he needs to pee, but he thinks he'll get in trouble if he does get out of bed. We keep trying to remind him that if he needs to go he can just get up and go....
We'll see how that works.
Well Friday is soon here and the weekend is approaching, with no so nice weather, I hear. We have a wedding to go to on Saturday in Estevan, so we're praying that the roads will be clear and that our vehicle will have no issues or anything like that. I'm quite excited for this wedding, it's a friend of ours from our "old" church. She moved to Estevan a few years ago. But lots of our friends from camps and stuff will be there. Seems like it'll be fun. Mom and Dad will be watching the boys for the day, I hope they are good for them.
Well now it is nice and quiet in our house, I am praying that our boys will fall asleep quickly and peacefully. That way I can go to bed early.....

Monday Monday....

Well our weekend was a busy one. At least for me it was. Friday wasn't too eventful, we stayed home and watched movies.... Saturday, Tyler worked until 2pm and I went shopping with my friend Emilie, from here on referred to as Em. Well we were shopping for some dresses, she is going on a cruise in March and needs a dress for cocktail parties, etc, and I have a wedding to go to this next weekend and I have no dresses.... Needless to say Em and I went everywhere.... and had no luck, so when it reached 6pm we decided to have supper instead. We went back to my house and Em and Zacharie played "spinning" and "tag" and "jump on the bed" and some sort of crawling thing.... Zacharie really loves Em, he calls her "Lemilie". I think its very cute, and on weekends when he doesn't get to see her, he thinks she'll be at our house on Saturday, she usually is, but last week she wasn't and he was very upset about it.
Sunday was good. Church in the morning, which Zacharie didn't want to leave Bite-size (like children's church). Then friends of ours, Sarah and Aron, and their two kids, Mekka and Judah, who are really close in age to Zacharie, were in town and came over for a visit. Zacharie loves playing with those kids. Then to make the day more exciting for Zacharie, my grandparents came into town. He was very very excited when he saw them pull up in the drive-way. My mom also bought him a drum set, so I added some pictures of him with the drums.... at least they stay at her house....Ha ha.
My mom and I went to Wal-mart last night, there were a bunch of toys on clearance. So I picked up some birthday and Easter presents for my boys.
Well today Ethan cut a tooth!! So he has one tooth poking through a bit, and the other one is not far behind. He is still full of smiles. Tyler ended up going to Swift Current this morning, for work. And I am supposed to pick him up from the shop in a bit, so I will be done for now.

** Funny story for today:
Zacharie asked me on Saturday, if he could have a "mimosa". I started to laugh and asked him where he learned that, and if he knew what a mimosa was.... He said that Mr. Incredible always has one on the plane.... clearly he has seen that movie too many times....
