What has happened.....

Well we have certainly had a busy couple of weeks. I ended up in the hospital on Sunday night with a massive gall bladder attack. They ( being the doctors) decided to do emergency gall bladder surgery to remove my gall bladder before it became infected. So I had that on Monday. I had to stay in the hospital and requested to go home on Tuesday. They wanted me to stay one more day, but allowed me to go home. Which I went to Weyburn to see my grandparents and my Uncle Dale, from Seattle. I was put on a "rest schedule" which basically means no lifting, bending or regular activity... So needless to say I couldn't take care of my boys. They went to a friend of ours, who was nice enough to watch them during the day while Tyler was at work. So I had a boring week.
My Uncle Jake passed away on Tuesday afternoon, and the funeral was planned for Saturday. So we headed to Saskatoon for the funeral. Spent the weekend there, we stayed at a hotel so that Zacharie could waterslide... which is good... he loves it!
This weekend looks like it will be equally as busy, with Tyler's Uncle Cory getting married. We are very excited for them. So we will be off again on Friday to head to Calgary for a wedding! I love weddings!

This is one of the flowers in the bouquet that the AFX Youth gave me, to "get well". Beautiful!

TWINS!!!

Okay, so now that you think I'm pregnant, and expecting twins, YOU ARE WRONG!!!
But good heading, huh??
So these are a couple pictures that I have come across, the one in the pink is me. And the one is the blue is my oldest son, Zacharie.
Now to settle the dispute. Everyone is always telling me that Zacharie looks like Tyler (his daddy).
I am here to put it to rest and state, he looks like me.
And here's the proof!!
Don't we look alike???

Wednesday

Well, it's Wednesday, hump day. Mid-week.
Well our computer is not willing or capable of being fixed so it looks as though we will have to get a new one. I am so sick of having to shop to buy something that we kinda need.
I have been using our mini lap-top. It works fine, but I can't sync it with our printer to print anything. How frustrating!!
Nothing too much is new, just looking forward to Thanksgiving. I need to get some pictures of the boys and put them on here. Maybe something new and exciting will happen this week. Maybe we'll win the lottery!! But then we'd have to buy a ticket wouldn't we....

Fall.... crunching leaves, cold weather, warm fireplace.

Okay so I'm really bad at this.
So much has happened in the last few months. We lost our car in a car accident. Bought the van of our dreams. I went to Vegas in August for a vacation with my girlfriends. It was awesome, I spent the whole time shopping!! If you can't find it in Vegas, it doesn't exist!! LOL!!
I am actually looking forward to this fall. It is such a beautiful season. I love scarecrows and pumpkins, and halloween!! Zacharie is already talking about trick-or-treating. So I think the boys are going to be pirates. I am so excited. This year's christmas and thanksgiving and holidays, I love them all!!
So I have started to decorate the house with fall and thanksgiving things.... I even have a little turkey! It's a Partylite one too!! So cute!!
My plans for this fall are to enjoy my boys. They are so adorable!! Ethan even has a little stubborn attitude!! He is hilarious. And you add Zacharie and I laugh all the time!!!
I will attempt to make this more regular than it is. See ya next time!!

Ethan's First Birthday Party

Okay so Ethan is one now! We had his party this last Sunday. We invited lots of people, and had kids playing on the slip 'n slide and in our mini water park. Wow! Outdoors is a much better idea than inside!
Ethan doesn't like grass so he basically hung out on the deck. He enjoyed opening his presents and eating cake! He made such a mess....
The cake was made by my mom and me. It almost looked too good to cut up and eat!
I know Ethan won't remember his birthday, as most kids who are one don't... but I hope he really enjoyed it!

Our day at the mini-fair

So there was a fair at Vic Square Mall, and we decided to take Zacharie to it. We really didn't think that he would even go on one ride!! But he did. He went on the Merry-go-round first. When it started to speed up he wanted off!! My mom convinced him to "Look for Papa (my dad)", and so he did and then he started to really enjoy it.
The next ride was the mini roller-car. And he would have to go on by himself... but he did!! He pick the Spiderman car! Naturally Tyler was very pleased!
He went on a few more rides after that, including the motorcycles, boats and airplanes. After that my mom wanted to take him on the Ferris wheel. And he loved it!! We know he's not afraid of heights now!! It was a fun evening. Ethan enjoyed it too, just watching all the lights and rides. He was excited that he got to see where he was going in the stroller!
Then Zacharie saw that there was a fishing pond (with plastic motorized fish...) that you can fish and pick your prize! Well at first he walked up to the pond and just picked up one of the fish! He wanted to take it home. But they told him he'd have to fish with a fishing rod to get a prize! So he did. He caught a fish and as soon as he did it started fighting it! It was really cool. So he got to pick his prize and picked a big blow-up Nemo fish.

Feed the birds...

Well, I am not good at keeping up on this. But I figured I would tell you about my wonderful long weekend with the boys.
Well we wanted to go away this weekend, but really couldn't get out stuff together, so we decided to not hang out with any one and just have some genuine family time.
To start the weekend off, Tyler, amazingly, got off work some-what early!! It was awesome! We spent Friday night watching Toy Story with Zacharie, and he loved it!!
Saturday we spent lots of time out side, even though the wind wanted to challenge us, but we prevailed!! And ended the evening off with a fire pit, as the wind finally gave up!
Sunday was so relaxing! We lounged around!! Slept in ( yes, we didn't go to church.....) and then watched movies!!!
Today I took Tyler driving downtown, as he has his drivers appointment on May 30th!! ( pray that he passes!!) Then we went shopping a bit and as you can see in the picture, we took Zacharie to feed the geese at Wascana Park.
It was so funny, Zacharie kept shrieking!! But it didn't scare the geese!!!
It was lots of fun.

WOW!! It's been a while!

Well, we all thought spring was here until it snowed....
Anyway, so much has happened in the last few weeks. First of all I got promoted to Team leader with Partylite and earned the leader retreat this last weekend, where it snowed....lots!!
The boys had doctors appointments this last week. They are both healthy!! Zacharie weighs 44lbs!! Ethan weighs 24lbs!!! They are growing so fast. Zacharie had to have blood work done (as routine) and he did so good!!
When I was gone this weekend, they missed me, and that's good. Well for me it is. I decided that I am not going back to work and that I am going to contiue teaching piano, and doing Partylite. I want nothing more than to be with my boys, and Tyler makes enough that we can survive on, anything that I bring in is extra!! And because Partylite is going so well, I have decided that I would far rather do that than have someone dictate to me when I can or can not have a day or weekend off. I hope that my family will continue to support me.
I am looking forward to the next few weeks, they are a bit more relaxing than the past months have been. So if any one is up for coffee, I am readily available!!

Summer is on it's way!!! Hooray!!!

We are really missing the pool!! We went to Saskatoon on March 28th and stayed at the travelodge. They have a waterslide and pool there. You'd think that by the time we left Zacharie would have had enough swimming. NOPE!! The other day I took him to my parents, and dad had their pit in the spot that their pool goes, well Zacharie noticed. He's so smart, he said "the pool should be there!". Well I just laughed! I can't believe that he remembers the pool!
He is getting so good at swimming. He went down the waterslide by himself several times. Ethan went down a few times too. He didn't mind that, he really didn't like the noise in the pool area. And the water in the pool was not warm, so he didn't like that much!
Our trip to Saskatoon was a busy one! We really didn't get much relaxing time, especially since the first night no one slept! The hotel wasn't so great, the pool was full of hair! It was gross, I didn't swim much!
This last couple of weeks have been so busy, with Easter, going to Saskatoon, and Tyler has been working a lot too, so it makes it seem so very busy!
I have also been pretty busy planning candle parties! I have started one new consultant, and am working on getting 2 more before the month is done! I am so excited about my PartyLite business. I really love all the benefits of it. It is so fun meeting new people, and showing off awesome candle stuff that I love!
The construction industry is really booming here, so Tyler is busy with work. He hauls drywall and insulation, and Winroc (his workplace) has the contract for quite a number of "new" buildings. And because Winroc is one of the few places that supply board, so they are always busy. And I expect that they will continue to be very busy this summer!
Ethan, is now 9 1/2 months old, and still army crawls, but he can pull himself up to standing at the coffee table. He is growing so very fast. Zacharie too, he is learning new things all the time. He remembers the funniest things!

Sunday's Best

The Brauns (without my brothers...) at church on Sunday. We look like we should be at a funeral....HA HA! I thought we looked pretty schnazzy! The choir sang on Sunday so that's why my parents and I are in black.... Tyler and the boys just dressed to match each other. I thought it would be nice to have a picture taken. We all looked so nice.
That didn't last long though. I wanted to leave the boys in their suits to go to my grandparents house, but Zacharie would not stay in his and wanted to wear his "cars" shoes. He doesn't normally like wearing clothes.... He is very excited for summer when he can just wear shorts.

Zacharie's Party

Well Zacharie's Birthday party was Saturday. What a busy day! You never realize how much energy is in a three year old until there are 4 others running around with him!! We decided to let the kids burn off their energy at McDonalds Playland. It worked out very well! He had a Dinoco The King cake, which my mom and I made. The above is a picture of it. Zacharie, from the moment he saw it, wanted to eat it BAD!!! But he managed to wait until after they had played a bit.
I have added some more pictures to the side, of his birthday party. If you want a picture of anything let me know, I'll get you a copy!

Thursday, March 20, 2008

Well Easter is almost here. Today, Zacharie and I decorated eggs, and made a cake for his birthday party this Saturday. Wow! This weekend sure is a busy one.
Ethan has 4 teeth now!!! He got his top ones a few days ago. They are really spaced out. He has a massive gap! But that's good, apparently, because then when he is older, he may have a hope of having straight teeth!
You know, you never realize that children grow up very quickly, until they are your own. Zacharie is turning three on Monday, and I never realized how quick he grew until I was thinking about making his birthday cake. I remember when I was first pregnant with him.... not that I'd want to go back, just remembering.
Now Ethan's the baby and Zacharie can count to ten and say his alphabet!
We are going watersliding next weekend, and I'm sure Zacharie will be very thrilled. It was funny, we were walking to my parents house the other day when it was very warm, and Zacharie says "time to go swimming!!". It's like he knows that once it gets warm out we go swimming! How funny.
He knows how to swim, so this summer we are gonna have to teach Ethan how to swim. Zacharie actually learned to swim when he was one, so it shouldn't be too hard to teach Ethan.
Well, I am hoping that summer comes sooner than later, however, it snowed last night so it's not looking too good. But hey, we live in Saskatchewan, anything could happen, remember the year it snowed in July????

Okay this is funny too!!

Well, you thought that one was funny....
Yesterday, I took the boys out shopping with me at Wal-mart (where else?), the one that my parents work at. When I take them out I make sure to put Zacharie in a pull-up so that if he has an accident, it won't affect his pants. Anyway, so before I left, I was having an issue getting Zacharie to sit in his car seat, let alone being buckled. This is a little abnormal but I thought nothing of it. Then at Wal-mart, I had an issue getting him to sit in the cart! Again, abnormal, but on the weekend we had let him help push the cart, so I figured that was why he wouldn't sit in the cart. Finally after coaxing him into the cart (as I was by-my-self and wasn't going to chase him around...) we went and shopped for a jacket for him and then to see my parents when they were finished working. So my mom came with Zacharie to buy his new jacket. And, as always, he wanted to go home with them, which worked fine, as I teach piano on Mondays. So we all went our vans and got in. Zacharie again, didn't want to sit in his seat, or be buckled!! Thinking this was ridiculous, my dad buckled him in anyway. They got to their house, and Zacharie kept pulling at his butt! So my mom figured that his pull-up was wet and went to change it. To her surprise she found, a compact mirror which Zacharie uses as a phone, in his pull-up!!! When she called me to tell me this, I realized that was probably the issue and was a bit confused as to why it would be in his pull-up. Then I remembered that I had dressed him in sweats, which of course, have no pockets!!! Now I understand why he doesn't like those types of pants very much!

Zacharie will someday be "em-bare-assed"!

Well as most of you know, we go to church on Sundays. Anyway, We went to church early yesterday so that I could practice for choir. While we wait, we let the children play. Zacharie had disappeared for a bit, and when he came back into the sanctuary, Anca (a friend of mine) had jestured to me what I thought meant he needed to go potty. So Tyler ran over to him to discover that wasn't the case. He had already gone potty, on the potty, and had his pants around his knees while walking into the sanctuary!!! Not really embarassing for me, but I'm sure this story will make it to his wedding, and at that point it will embarass him! I thought it was worth sharing... See my son does stuff like this all the time!
Hope you enjoyed! I thought it was funny!!

Busy-ness becomes me....

I have decided that I love taking pictures and editing them!! It is so much fun, especially ones like this one, of my boys!! They are so very adorable!! I have figured out a way to add lots of them to this page, I just want to edit and crop some of them, so you all need to be patient!
Well after a busy week, I have an even busier weekend! I am doing a starter show for one of my friends, who has decided to start with Partylite! I am so excited for her!! So we are spending the day in Moose Jaw with them, and then her and I are gonna have some fun in the evening. If you ever want to have a hilarious experience, have a candle party! The last one I did, was my mom's and we had so much fun....
Next week is St. Patricks Day! And then Good Friday, and then Easter.... then Zacharie's 3rd Birthday. Like I said, busy.
I can't believe Zacharie is three already!!! I remember when he was first born.... seems so long ago. Now he talks and goes pee on the potty! Funny how quickly kids grow up.
No, we're not having another one...yet. We'd like to wait a bit. And aim for a girl... so everyone pray that we have a girl! Ha Ha!
Not too much else is new. I got a new phone, a Motorola Q. Its like a palm pilot, only not that brand and its a phone too. I am actually looking to see if I can find a program that I can install onto it that is the bible. If anyone knows of one, let me know.
I should get going, have to clean my house.... again. We're having small group here, so I need to get on top of that right away.

And so it goes...

Well March is here!!! And the weather is awesome. I'm really hoping that it stays this way.
So I have been busy. I am lining up Partylite show, and becoming a team leader. I also can't wait to see the new line in a few weeks!
My boys are growing like weeds. Ethan is 22lbs!!! We took him off formula and put him on straight milk, and guess what? No more puking!!! Praise the Lord!! So we think that the formula must have been to heavy on his stomach, or something.
Zacharie is going through a little bit of a wild phase, and pushing the limits. We are trying to deal with him, with patience.... but we don't have much of that....
Tyler has been working alot, the season has picked up. The earliest he was home last week was 6pm, and that was a 12 hour day.... So I can see him being very busy.
Not much is new, except the busy-ness.
On Sunday, we have arranged a mini drama, and it's a very powerful message. I am really looking forward to having it done. So if you want to see it, Sunday at 10:30am at Avonhurst Assemblies.
Anyway, I am gonna see if I can get some pictures posted!

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Yeah, it's been a while....

Okay, so I haven't been here in over a week, I know, shame on me.... But we're really busy people! Well I'm not 100% sure I have mentioned this before, but Ethan has 2 teeth now, and is starting to crawl!!! Wow he is growing up fast.
Like I said we are busy.... let me share why. Monday's in the evening, I teach piano. Tuesday this last week was movie night, and this week worship practice for a womens event. Wednesday last week was Partylite meeting, and every week choir. Thursday's are usually free, I try to book shows on that night or, just spend time with my family. Friday is small group night, although we have had other things going on that we haven't made it to small group in a while..... Saturday was mom's candle party, and after that I hung out with my friends, and my parents. Then Sunday, church.... See so you can't say that we have a lot of time, we don't. Just day time, time.
Zacharie is almost completely potty-trained. He can go out in just underwear and not get them wet!! We are just working on night-time.... that's the hard part.
We are waiting for spring to come... and then SUMMER!!!! I love summer. Well I'll be back later, lots to do, always.

Monday, February 18, 2008

Long Week-end...

And so our long weekend is coming to a close. I love long weekends, not that I have to go back to work the next day, but Tyler does and so do my parents. We spend a lot of time with my parents, Zacharie especially. This weekend for us was kinda blah.... nothing interesting happened.
But today, I discovered that I can make a Partylite website!! So I did!! If you want to check it out, it is really cool!
Anyway, I have a busy week ahead of me. I have 2 meetings that I am supposed to go to, my mom's birthday is tomorrow, my grandpa's 75th birthday is Wednesday ( one of the meetings is that night) and I am getting our piano tuned (yaaaaaayyyy!!!). WOW... lots to do.
I also just realized that I forgot to reply to an email.... I'm not with it today....
Anyway see ya....

Oh yeah that website is :

Happy Valentine's Day

So, I usually don't like valentine's day, I usually expect my hubby to do something sweet, and I usually get let down. Not that he doesn't try, he usually forgets. It's okay.
Last year on Valentine's Day we found out that I was pregnant with a "boy". I was a bit disappointed, to be quite honest. I had my heart set on having a girl.....
I wasn't upset that he was a boy, I was upset that he wasn't a girl. So my valentine's day kinda was an emotional trek. By the end of the day, however, we had decided on what we were gonna call him. Ethan is Hebrew and it means strong, firm, and impetuous. Some days, like today, I wish we hadn't named him that, he is a very stubborn and strong little boy! Sometimes that's a good thing, though. Not when he's cranky....
Anyway, back to Valentine's....
Tyler and I were actually initially planning on getting married on Valentine's day. Since we got engaged on January 9th, my mom convinced us to give her more time to plan an actual wedding. So we did. We spent our Valentine's that year, in Regina, planning a wedding.
I'm not sure that Valentine's was such a great idea. It's a lot of pressure on couples to spend a "romantic" day together, which I'm not sure a lot of couples, especially married ones, with kids, have time for. My theory is be romantic whenever you want, instead of waiting for an anniversary, birthday or holiday, like Valentine's Day to be romantic. Besides, it's only a way for retail stores to make more money selling you chocolates ( not that I don't like chocolates), flowers (which die anyway, although, I like getting flowers too.....) and cards (does anyone ever keep those???). I'd rather spend my money on something more worth while.
But for lots of people, who aren't married or dating someone, Valentine's is a drag.... And I don't think that it should be that way. I know a lot of my "single" friends hang out with each other, and see a movie, or something like that. Valentine's day, I don't think, is being what it was meant to be.
The history of Valentine's day is actually a very interesting one, as no one really knows why it is.
Here's what I found....
Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred.
One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.
Another one is that Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today.
And this one is certainly an interesting prospective of it :
The Christian church may have decided to celebrate Valentine's feast day in the middle of February in an effort to 'christianize' celebrations of the pagan Lupercalia festival. In ancient Rome, February was the official beginning of spring and was considered a time for purification. Houses were ritually cleansed by sweeping them out and then sprinkling salt and a type of wheat called spelt throughout their interiors. Lupercalia, which began at the ides of February, February 15, was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture.
Wow there are a lot of different aspects.... so see, Valentine's Day isn't necessarily a romantic day....
There's your "learned something new..." for the day and a little history lesson.
In any case, whatever or however you are celebrating Valentine's Day, Have a good one!!!

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

Okay so a Tuesday.... at least I think that's what day it is.

Well it's Tuesday. Ethan has started to try to crawl.... It's quite funny cuz if he doesn't move then he gets mad and frustrated and then he'll move, and he stops crying, and tries to figure out how he did that.
We've had a pretty interesting couple of days. On Saturday we went to Estevan for Amanda's wedding. Now that was the most elegant wedding I have ever been to, and she made the most beautiful bride!! I think the only other wedding that was at the same elegance level was one I went to when I was 7 years old. Wow. It was so beautiful. They had the coolest idea for Wedding "favors". They had Jones' Soda, with their picture and name and date of the wedding on it, and then had a scripture verse on the other side. When I was talking to her, she said that she loves Jones' soda and HAD to have it at their wedding so she went on their website to see if they do stuff like that and they did! Totally cool.
The weather made the way there and back a bit interesting. On the way there we saw four vehicles in the ditch.... we were praying the whole way not to join them. Then it was very funny, at Milestone, it was all-of-the-sudden clear! Really weird. On the way back it was just very windy. Not a bad drive though... could have been nasty.
Sunday, I was in choir and as always on Sunday morning, we were running very late..... It seems as though we have a harder time that day of the week, getting ready to go...
Monday..... I hate Mondays..... it was not too thrilling.... at all. Really boring actually.
So that brings us to today. And so far not too much has happened. I'm just waiting for Valentine's day to pass.... I'm not sure that I like that day either. Lots of pressure to be sweet and romantic and most of the time, GUYS...... , forget about it. Tyler doesn't usually forget, he just isn't naturally romantic, and we have kids, so that makes it hard to be romantic and plan something, as kids are very unpredictable.
Well I hope this week goes by quickly, it's seeming to drag as it is.

The Scribbles on My Heart

Her sweet eyes
Soft, sweet skin
Precious smile
I miss her already
I miss everything about her.
I can't take being away.
She is the woman I love.
The one I miss the most
I can't wait to hold her
Breathe her in
Take her all in
Memories flood through
my consciousness
Wanting me, wishing
that She was here with me.
I know she knows I love Her
So I write this
In hopes She can hear
The scribbles on my heart.

Tyler J. Yoner

*this poem was written in 2002, while my wife and I were dating, on the bus back to Kindersley from Regina after saying good-bye to my (now) wife.

Thursday, February 7, 2008

Wow, what a day.....

Not that anything interesting happened today. It was just busy.
We finally got the boys to bed, after giving them a bath and then getting some news about Tyler's grandma. Apparently she got her knee stuck, and then her heart rate jumped to 160! So she got rushed to the hospital and her leg is in a brace and she's on crutches. She's back home now, but still a little shook up.
Ethan broke a tooth through on Tuesday, and another one today. So he has two little teeth!
Zacharie is still doing awesome potty training!! He always says "don't get the gotchies wet!" He's so funny. He'll go to bed, and then get upset cuz he needs to pee, but he thinks he'll get in trouble if he does get out of bed. We keep trying to remind him that if he needs to go he can just get up and go....
We'll see how that works.
Well Friday is soon here and the weekend is approaching, with no so nice weather, I hear. We have a wedding to go to on Saturday in Estevan, so we're praying that the roads will be clear and that our vehicle will have no issues or anything like that. I'm quite excited for this wedding, it's a friend of ours from our "old" church. She moved to Estevan a few years ago. But lots of our friends from camps and stuff will be there. Seems like it'll be fun. Mom and Dad will be watching the boys for the day, I hope they are good for them.
Well now it is nice and quiet in our house, I am praying that our boys will fall asleep quickly and peacefully. That way I can go to bed early.....

Monday, February 4, 2008

Monday Monday....

Well our weekend was a busy one. At least for me it was. Friday wasn't too eventful, we stayed home and watched movies.... Saturday, Tyler worked until 2pm and I went shopping with my friend Emilie, from here on referred to as Em. Well we were shopping for some dresses, she is going on a cruise in March and needs a dress for cocktail parties, etc, and I have a wedding to go to this next weekend and I have no dresses.... Needless to say Em and I went everywhere.... and had no luck, so when it reached 6pm we decided to have supper instead. We went back to my house and Em and Zacharie played "spinning" and "tag" and "jump on the bed" and some sort of crawling thing.... Zacharie really loves Em, he calls her "Lemilie". I think its very cute, and on weekends when he doesn't get to see her, he thinks she'll be at our house on Saturday, she usually is, but last week she wasn't and he was very upset about it.
Sunday was good. Church in the morning, which Zacharie didn't want to leave Bite-size (like children's church). Then friends of ours, Sarah and Aron, and their two kids, Mekka and Judah, who are really close in age to Zacharie, were in town and came over for a visit. Zacharie loves playing with those kids. Then to make the day more exciting for Zacharie, my grandparents came into town. He was very very excited when he saw them pull up in the drive-way. My mom also bought him a drum set, so I added some pictures of him with the drums.... at least they stay at her house....Ha ha.
My mom and I went to Wal-mart last night, there were a bunch of toys on clearance. So I picked up some birthday and Easter presents for my boys.
Well today Ethan cut a tooth!! So he has one tooth poking through a bit, and the other one is not far behind. He is still full of smiles. Tyler ended up going to Swift Current this morning, for work. And I am supposed to pick him up from the shop in a bit, so I will be done for now.

** Funny story for today:
Zacharie asked me on Saturday, if he could have a "mimosa". I started to laugh and asked him where he learned that, and if he knew what a mimosa was.... He said that Mr. Incredible always has one on the plane.... clearly he has seen that movie too many times....

Thursday, January 31, 2008

Something exciting!!

Well last night we had our usual routine. Gave the boys a bath and put them to bed.... Well Ethan decided at 11:30 that it was time to be wide awake! So we decided to let him stay up for a bit and wear off his energy...
Well that's when it happened! He learned to sit by himself!! So I took some pictures. He only fell over a few times!! And he babbled while he was sitting. That's why his mouth is open in some of the pictures... He was also blowing raspberries, which I think is his favorite thing to do.

ahhh Tuesdays..... at least its not Monday!

Well it's Tuesday. Monday was interesting. After cleaning up the flour that Zacharie decided belonged on the floor ( it was also mixed with sugar...) I basically spent the day with my boys. It was too cold to go out side, can you believe -40??? And the wind was blowing, I really hoped all day that I wouldn't have to leave the house. Well today isn't much better. And I do have to leave the house.... Ethan has his 6 month needles.... a little late, but they are really busy and the wait list is always very long. Aside from his teething, he is a big (no exaggeration!) healthy boy!
Not too much happening today other than that....
Zacharie now goes potty, all by himself. With no help!!! What kid do you know that picks that up in just over a week??? Amazing! And the last few days he's had no accidents. It's so awesome.... no diapers! Tyler said we should train Ethan at the same time.... I think it would be awesome, if it was possible... He at least needs to be walking.
I have started teaching piano lessons again, in hopes that I won't have to go back to work. I only have one student so far, so I would need at least 5 more. I keep posting ads everywhere.
My girlfriends and I are planning a trip this summer to Las Vegas for a week. I am really looking forward to it. It will be so much fun to hang out with my friends with out children.... don't get me wrong, I love my boys so much, but sometimes I would just like 5 minutes of silence....ha ha.
I am just looking forward to the experience, we're going to go see the grand canyon too!! That's what I am really looking forward to, the site seeing.
Anyway. I should go do some laundry. See ya!

What a beautiful Saturday!

Wow! Today was so very nice! We took the boys out to Dallas Valley Ranch, for the church family fun day. It was so much fun! Zacharie loved the sleigh ride and really loved tobogganing, even though he landed face first into the snow! I really wish that I would have took my camera. Ethan enjoyed the sleigh ride too.... he fell asleep. What a really fun day.
To even make the day better, my dad fixed our van!! Yay!! We have heat!!! I love that my dad knows how to fix things, and that he doesn't charge me for it....
I'm gonna go, I gotta get up early for church tomorrow. I am in choir, and we sing tomorrow...

Okay, it's Friday...

Yeah, I know, I'm not so good at keeping up with this stuff...
Our week was very busy. I am in our church's choir, and we practice on Wednesday nights. We are actually doing one of our pieces this Sunday, if anyone wants to check it out. Our week wasn't very exciting, except that today I found Ethan a snowsuit!!! We are going to "family fun day" with our church tomorrow, well actually today.... ha ha. Anyway, I really wanted to find Ethan a snowsuit, one that fits... and I did!!
Thursday, hmmm... I don't really remember much about Thursday, except that Zacharie is now going potty, by himself!!! It's totally awesome!! I am so proud of him. Ethan started saying "atha" we're not sure what he's trying to say, it almost has a "zzzz" sound to it. Maybe he's trying to say "Zacharie".
Today he started saying "ma" so I'm hoping...."mommy" will be next!
I made the mistake of mentioning my Grandma and Grandpa around Zacharie.... now he really wants to see them....hint hint.... Maybe we'll get the opportunity on Sunday....
Well aside from my mom and I having a really hilarious time talking about weight gain and tape-worms the size of boa constrictors not much else is interesting.... and if you want to know about the tape worms, you'll have to ask my mom or myself.... it truly is a funny story, and who knows, maybe that would explain massive weight gain among those who have drank stream water.....

Just today

Okay, well today was over-all not very interesting. However, I did discover an awesome weight-loss help website. Basically it's free to join, and it gives you exercises and menus based on what you want to do, and you can change them or use what they have for examples. It's really neat. I just want to lose some weight before the summer....
Anyway. Ethan is teething so bad, his teeth are right at the surface. You can feel that they are there, if only they would break through.
Zacharie is doing very good with potty training, now if only he would come wake me up right away when he gets up. He has a tendency to go play for a bit first, and sometimes I don't hear him.
The only thing new and exciting, we're going to a wedding on the 9th of February, in Estevan. So that'll be fun, but we're not taking the boys.... they weren't really invited...
We are trying to keep busy with things. Tyler's work has slowed down a bit for the time, they aren't supposed to do much overtime right now, and he already has about 10 hours of OT for this week.... so he's not allowed to work any more OT unless absolutely necessary. It should be picking up in the next month or so.... hopefully.
Ethan had his 6 month check up yesterday and he weighs 19.85lbs, and is 27.5" tall. He is in the 95 percentile. WOW! He just seems so big. He's the same size that Zacharie was when Zacharie was 9 months old!! He just keeps growing. Ethan still spits up a bit, so I asked the doctor and he said they don't usually worry about it unless it's affecting his weight. So I guess we don't need to worry about it right now. He did the funniest thing yesterday. He was rolling around the room and grabbed one of Zacharie's sippy cups filled with milk, and started drinking it!!! He drank what was left.... not that it was much it was only a couple ounces. So funny though, he knows how to use a sippy cup!
Anyway I have lots that I would like to get done tonight. See ya!

I hate Mondays

Well its Monday. I hate Mondays, especially on weekends where I don't get much sleep. Anyway. I am surviving. Zacharie is potty training, and he's doing pretty good, but going places sure wrecks that. He wears a pull-up when we're out (just in case) and we were on the bus on Friday and he needed to pee, and I told him that he'd have to hold it or go in his pull-up. Well he's 2, so he couldn't hold it very long....
Ethan has his six month doctors' appointment today. He is growing so fast. And last night I could feel his teeth, they should be coming through any day now. Maybe that will help the puking stop.... He spits up quite a bit. The doctor said not to worry about it though because it's not affecting his weight gain or growth.... If it is can you imagine how huge he would be???
Anyway I am gonna chill out for a bit. See ya later!

Young Yoner's

Well our family is growing and we have decided to make a website so everyone can see where we are, where we've been and where we are going!
Our family began when we got hitched.... Tyler and I got married on August 2nd, 2003 (the day after Tyler's birthday so he will never forget our anniversary.... smart huh?) We moved several (literally) times in our first year of marriage. We went on our first vacation a year after we got married. We went to Beautiful British Columbia. We went to the beach, spent lots of time in the water and went shopping!! While visiting B.C., we went down to Colville, Wash. to see the Wal-mart Supercenter (If you have never been to been to one, you have got to go see it!! They are awesome!!) , and discovered that I was pregnant!!! And thus began the journey of parenthood!
Zacharie was born on March 24, 2005, weighing 9lbs, 7oz. Yes I had drugs!!! The labour wasn't that bad, it only lasted 13 hours.... thats from the time I found out I was in labour. I actually didn't know until my doctor's appointment, where he told us to make our way to the hospital. At 3:50am Zacharie Samual Glenn was born.
We spent the next year learning how Zacharie worked... He was such a good baby. He slept thru the night at about 6 weeks old. How wonderful! He began eating solids at 2 weeks old. He was such a big baby that I couldn't keep up with feeding him just liquid! He learned to love fish, thanks to Finding Nemo. He spent lots of time staring at that movie.
We got a cat a few weeks after we got married, and named her Bonita. However, she had this long tail and so we nick-named her Monkey, which she responded to all the time.
One day Bonita was up on the table, which she shouldn't have been on, and Zacharie noticed her and said clear as day, " Momkey, ba baba ba!" I was so shocked!! This was when he was 9 months old! After that it did not take him long to learn more words. He started walking when he was 10 1/2 months old. And then he was unstoppable!
We spend the summer of 2006 in B.C. again! Zacharie just loved the water, and learned how to swim. It also helped that my parents have a pool! It's really interesting to see a kid wearing a diaper go in the water and try to drag himself out of the water, diaper dragging and all....
We spent the rest of that summer relaxing around my parents pool.
The same year after Thanksgiving and after my birthday (Oct.22) we found out that we were again pregnant!! Thrilled with joy we couldn't keep that a secret.
I was working at Wal-mart and decided to tell my boss right away, so there would be no surprises. They were excited too, that was a relief. I went on sick leave in February. The baby was causing back problems. I spent the rest of the pregnancy trying to find things to do. Man it is boring when you have a clean house that can't get much cleaner....
I found out in May that I have Group B Strep ( no not strep throat...), it can cause lots of problems for the baby. Luckily there are ways of treating it, during labour....
Through the month of June, I thought many times that I was in labour only to find that I was having braxtion hicks contractions.... Then one Monday morning, a week after Tyler started his job at Winroc, I woke up around 7 am and thought I had wet the bed. I turned to Tyler and said, "I think my water may have broke..." Tyler thought I was kidding, but got up anyway to get ready for work. I rolled over and WOOOSH! My water definitely broke! Tyler called my doctor. He told us to go to the hospital now. He would meet us there. So I called my parents. They weren't home! They must have been on their way to work. So I called their work. They weren't there yet. I decided to leave a message (they work at the same Wal-mart as I do, so everyone knows that I was expecting...), and get ready to go to the hospital. I felt nauseas and dizzy. Tyler had to drive (like a maniac!) . We made it to the hospital. Zacharie thought it was cool that I had to ride in a wheel-chair, and so he rode on my lap. We got to labour and delivery where my parents had been waiting. I was so white, and if you know me, I am soooo not a white person! They put me in this huge room, closest to the emergency O.R. They were prepping to do a C-section, because of my lethargic-ness... I was put on a fluid IV and started to feel better, cold, but better. Then my doctor checked me and I was 6 cm dilated, and was told I could have "drugs" if I wanted. I said "no". So my doctor left and told them to call him when I was 8 cm.
About 20 minutes later, I was 8 cm, my doctor had just got to his office when he was called to come back. By the time he got back to the hospital I was 10 cm. I wanted drugs!!! I wasn't allowed to have anything! I then realized that there were about 8 people in the room. Thank goodness for the big room. There was my doctor, an intern (Doogie.... well he was real young), 2 NICU staff (prepping for the baby), 2 nurses, my mom and Tyler. I started to push, kicked Tyler and yelled at my doctor (did I mention that drugs are good!!). After 7 pushes, Ethan was out!! Thank goodness!! He was huge!!! I wasn't allowed to hold him, the cord was wrapped around his neck and there was meconium in the "water". They said that he was un-responsive. He had such a little cry. But then so did Zacharie. About 20 minutes later, I was finally allowed to hold him.
So on June 25th, 2007, Ethan Josiah James was born, weighing 9lbs, 13 oz.
Zacharie was very unsure what to think of this new baby. He was excited though. Then for the next few weeks a bit jealous. This baby took all the attention.
Zacharie, Ethan and I went to B.C., with my parents, four weeks after Ethan was born. Wow, two kids, no daddy, is hard. We had a lot of fun, although, I couldn't swim until the last 2 days we were there. But Zacharie loved the beach and didn't want to leave.
Ethan's first time with solid food would have been when he was about 4 1/2 weeks old.
Our Christmas this past year was awesome, with two wonderful boys. Zacharie loves his brother and always wants to be with Ethan.
Zacharie has started potty- training and is doing very well. Now we just have to work on night time training.
Ethan is rolling around everywhere, babbling, and laughing. He can even say "papa". It's funny, he only says it to get my dad's (papa's) attention.
We'll keep you all posted as to what is going on in our lives. As for right now, Tyler is still working at Winroc, and I am starting to teach piano again, and hopefully not having to go back to work for much more than a few hours a week.
Our boys are growing, and we hope you enjoy the pictures, we have lots!!
